Kyle Browning as the GRAND
FINALE' Champion of
2006
Lakefront
Studios would like to congratulate Kyle
Browning on winning the Eleven Mile Music Open
Mic Winter Shootout Finale held at The Celtic Tavern
in Olde Town Conyers. Kyle took home nearly $700
cash and was awarded 4 hours studio time from yours
truely (Lakefront).
It
was pure excitement and
raw emotion as Kyle made his way to the stage to
accept the honors! Kyle has been a consistent
performer the past several months at The Celtic and mentioned
when he arrived that he had been working hard on his
original songs in preparation for the contest. The
judges in post
ceremonial conversation stated that it was a tough
night when it came down to making the final decision
with so much talent in the house. But they had
agreed unanimously during their talks in chamber
that Kyle had exhibited an overall true talent during
his performances.
We look forward to working with him!

| FCC May Require Airtime For
Indies |
|
In
what could be a landmark decision in favor of independent music, the
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is considering an internal
proposal that would require commercial broadcasters to reserve a
certain amount of airtime for “independently produced” music, the
Hollywood Reporter revealed today. The proposal comes in the wake of
recent payola scandals involving the nation’s major record labels and
largest broadcasting conglomerates, which left some FCC commissioners
concerned about the majors’ ability to dominate the airwaves. In
exchange for guaranteeing airtime to independent artists, the FCC would
not require radio broadcasters to admit to any wrongdoing.

Located thirty minutes east
of Atlanta,
Lakefront Studios provides a relaxed environment away from the noise
and stresses of the city. In constructing the studio, we wanted to
establish a calming, stress-free atmosphere where the artists,
producers, and engineers could work with as few distractions as
possible.
Lakefront Studios is not just another recording studio. Our clients
comment on the laid back approach to recording and how much they enjoy
it. At lakefront we are not partial to a particular genre of music, or
style of recording, and are always willing to try new ideas inside of
the studio.
Lakefront Studios is able to provide the
perfect environment where the engineers and staff are able to interpret
the artist’s and producer’s vision and translate
that into
a professional product.
You'll find all the amenities
that the artists and producers could ever want. The lounge offers high
definition television, featuring a surround sound theater system. The
kitchen is fully equipped to handle any meal one would wish to prepare.
There are also other activities available to keep busy in down time,
such as a billiards room, video games, movies, and fishing down at the
lake. We also offer onsite lodging for our out of town clients.

What
are they
saying about Lakefront Studios?
"...what a relief it was to find
a studio that
actually cares about their clients' music and not just the bottom line.
The beauty of Lakefront is that I feel right at home - because I am.
All the amenities of a relaxing environment are present and without the
Atlanta price tag. I know the box isn't as important as the mind though
which is why I met with your Chief Engineer Ben C. I feel like he and I
are on the same level about my songs and the tracking process. He's on
top of his game (I ran him through a mill of questions) and he has
innovative ideas that get me eager to track. I have no doubt that what
he brings to the table will be one of the best things to happen to my
LP. With Ben's ears and Leslie's ideas, all the puzzle pieces are
coming together. Thanks guys! "
